When is the rewind festival 2017

As well as the main stage, the site includes a Silent Disco, tribute band tent, funfair, and even an inflatable wedding chapel! The rear upstage LED wall formed the backdrop to the stage, and two large portrait screens were flown one either side of the stage. Mark, Steve, and Fabrizio also doubled as cameramen over the weekend. The side screens were used to display a combination of IMAG footage from the cameras, and content created by Miguel Riberio.

The side screens were a new addition for , and Miguel took full advantage of them, creating content which spread out from the centre screen and across the side screens, which made for an immersive experience for the enthusiastic crowd. The IMAG footage was presented in a picture in picture format over the content.

Two HD cameras were used for IMAG; one positioned at front of house with a long lens, with a further camera in the pit for close-up shots. He paired this with a v on his laptop which enabled him to make small changes and adjustments on site or in the hotel over the weekends. These really engage the audience, and increase their enjoyment of the event. These were complemented by a set of Sky Pan and Arri 10Kw vintage lights, which Martin restored and maintains himself.

To create a different look for the lighting, Martin used ladders flown at the side of the stage and in front of the rear LED screen. We paid to use posh loos for the weekend — and I am so, so glad that we did. The posh loos had a toilet, a sink, a mirror and hot running water in each cubicle and were cleaned after each use. The other toilets around the festival smelt revolting from metres away and they must have been foul to use.

The posh loos also had an area with some hair-washing sinks and mirrors. The only drawback was that they were closed from 1am until 7am. Besides a camping chair, clothes, drinks and snacks I took a sleeping bag, a pillow, blankets, a torch, a portable charger, an umbrella and a waterproof groundsheet to sit on. It took us about 20 minutes to walk from the car park to the camping area. We managed to carry all of our stuff in one go, but it was hard, slow work.

We saw lots of people transporting their stuff with trolleys, which seems like an excellent idea. The attractive historical town of Henley-on-Thames is just along the river from the festival site.

I walked there and back on the Saturday morning, and it was very pleasant. It took about half an hour each way. There was also a water taxi ferrying people between the town and the festival. Walking along the river from Rewind to Henley-on-Thames. I really enjoyed Rewind, and would go again. It was a lot of fun, although I was very tired and in need of a hot shower when I got home!

Have you been to the Rewind Fesival? Does it appeal to you? Do let me know if you have any questions about my trip. Please note: the Capesthorne caravan park will be closed for the festival.
