First Name. Last Name. For younger families, the large block sizes and well built homes are being taken advantage of, with many properties undergoing well designed renovations. The best aspect of Woodvale, in my opinion, is the abundance of parks and retained bushland which is incredibly rare in the northern suburbs. A number of the streets in Woodvale Waters front onto the parklands, and have spectacular easterly views over Lake Joondalup.

Hillarys Boat Harbour and the beach are a short 15 minutes drive. I have never experienced any of the issues with teenagers and hoons listed in some of the other reviews below and found them very out of character with my own experience. Not safe at night near the shops and horrifying to see kids with drug addictions, my son would be harassed any time he went out with his mates to the park by the drunk bogans or teens off their faces.

Woodvale used to be a great suburb but this year is completely changing my mind. Teenagers and bogans are out every night creating crime and selling drugs.

The library and shops has become absolute trash. We are looking at buying here so we can get our two kids into the high school. I've only heard good things up until now about the suburb but this worries me Add a comment You are a troll.

If anyone is reading this then read this guy's other comments and you will figure him out. He is a complete liar. The teens at night are dangerous and loud. Groups of at least 10 teenagers causing chaos in the streets. Good school, friendly neighbourhood just love it here. Houses bit on the expensive side.

Good suburb for children. Everything is close by. Transport, Doctors, freeway, shopping centre etc. We lived in Woodvale for a year, and although its ok compared to some other suburbs, i wouldnt go back. There was young teenagers always causing crime at night, and getting into fights it was terrible.

Traffic is pretty bad too. The house prices are ridiculous, totally over valued, i mean whats the attraction???? Yeah, its not that bad, but there are young teenagers that cause problems on the streets, and fights break out sometimes, not good if you have a young family, but other than that not bad.

Very busy traffic as well. We have moved around the northern suburbs looking for the right place to live good schools, easy access to amenities etc and Woodvale is by far one of the better areas we have seen. Everyone seems to take pride in their neighbourhood - especially in the estate areas which we unfortunately couldn't move into.. Its more expensive than the surrounding suburbs but well worth it. Good community feel, clean and safe - Woodvale is a great place to call home.

Woodvale is close to all amenities and great schools. Most houses and gardens are well maintained, which makes it a good place to buy a house because the resale value is good. Rentals are very expensive compared to other adjoining suburbs. Easy for teenagers to get themselves around on public transport. I travel all over Perth daily and see most suburbs and meet the residents and I'am glad I live in Woodvale. The downside is it's expensive to buy but you get what you pay for.

We have been in the area since 96 and love it here. We moved into the Crest Estate when we had a family and havent looked back.

Values of the homes in woodvale generally but particularly in Woodvale Crest and Woodvale Waters Estates remain strong due to the good interest of people wanting to move in here.

And rightly so, with the fantastic community spirit which you dont find many other places. As for the comment below about hoons and gangs Yes, occasionally you see or hear some knucklehead hooning, but I dont know of a place that doesn't happen and we for one certainly have never seen gangs and have never heard of properties being trashed. North Woodvale Primary is fantasic, Prinicpal and Teachers take a vested interest in the kids' education and add to the community spirit.

Local Shops and restaurants are good and its only a short drive to the local major shopping centres and most importantly, Bunnings! I've been around Woodvale for a good 8 years and Ive never seen a suburb with so many noons, gangs and teenage dropouts.

Woodvale itself is actually very nice still a little too far from the city and very leafy, but for some reason the teenage trash element just keeps hanging around. Maybe in another 15 years? Interesting, we have been here and Kingsley for the past 20 years and never seen "gangs" Yes, teenagers get around but never seen nor heard of anything like you are talking about Have lived in Woodvale for 9 years with 2 kids in great schools. Walk the dog most nights after 8 o'clock until about 9 o'clock and have never seen or heard any trouble.

Dead quiet at night. Joins dissapeared with the mining boom. Have absolutely nothing to complain about in this perfect suburb. House prices are going up in pockets that have sub division rights. Great time to buy here now. It seemed so nice when I drove around but after looking at many homes the prices are not reflecting true value.

Hahaha I grew up in woodvale and can actually guarantee all of you the reports are right except the numbers 10 people a gang got to be joking we had around at least I moved there at age 13 and literally had to join to survive and wish I never went there at all fights???

Try murder hands down one the hardest places you will ever find. We are a young family and love everything about this beautiful suburb. Shopping is good and major centres only a few minutes drive away. Perfect place to bring up our family :. It is so nice to be back in the heart of Woodvale - everyone is so lovely and has made us very welcome. Because of the low rental percentage, the majority of homes are owner occupied and are well maintained. I love selling homes in Woodvale - nice properties and nice clients - what more could we want?

People are so reluctant to leave the area - when that upgrade or downsize, they want to stay in Woodvale. The abundance of parks and services, not to mention the reputation of the schools in the area, make this an ideal suburb to raise your family in. Woodvale is very convenient - sandwiched between Whitfords and Edgewater train stations and a short car ride to several excellent shopping centres. The local shops are brilliant too! In terms of restaurants and takeways we are spoilt for choice!

At the heart of Woodvale sits the Moon and Sixpence - a popular pub that creates a little taste of home for our English residents. Live entertainment and hearty food, draw loads of regulars! Our 7 day shopping centre means that you'll never run out of fresh and tasty food. My local hairdresser is there too - The Cutting Garden - the girls there are gorgeous! Tell them Julie Ormston sent you!

I lived in Woodvale for a quarter of a century yes I am that old! I'd like to say thanks to all the wonderful people that live and work here and make it such a sensational suburb! If you have any real estate queries or want to know what is happening in the Woodvale market, please pop in and see us at Julie Ormston Realty - we're in the Woodvale Shopping Centre, between Margaret's Ironing Centre and Indulge Day Spa.

We live in Woodvale Crest Estate www. It took a long time to get in here, as houses rarely come up for sale but we are very happy with the move.

We have made great frends and so have the kids. Any very occasional disruption is far outweighed by the great community spirit. Nice suburb, but lots of graffiti and tagging. Beautiful suburb with excellent schools. Add to that a good library and a spacious shopping centre. Perfect for young families.
