I have never seen any games that refer to magicians as having actual magic, just illusions, and in my mental lexicon when I hear Magician I think of someone who can exist in real life ant only does illusions for show, but mage, as well as the others mean "real" magic users, although wizards can only be male.

I think mage and magician are the same But a wizard can be a mage, or can be a warlock or can have another "specialty" like chaman, summoner, druid. Wizard is a general way to call all people who dominate the magic. I am right? I'm talking about fantasy, not about the actual magicians illusionists Thanks for your answers!

You might also come across "enchanter" or is it spelled "enchauntor"? Authors often coin their own terms for more originality: witcher, spellcrafter, They can do whatever their authors will them to be able to do.
